Two rape incidents reported, four accused arrested
Two rape incident including gang rape to a minor girl has been reported in two separate parts of the state and police has also arrested four miscreants involved in the heinous crimes.
Police sources said that on Monday gang rape incident has been reported at Killa police station under Gomati district, where one 15 years girl was allegedly gang raped by three miscreants.
After the complaint was received, police registered a specific case under section 376 DA of IPC and 6 of POCSO Act-2012 and started investigation. All necessary legal steps have been taken including medical check-up of the victim girl. During investigation, police arrested three accused persons identified as Despi Jamatia (18), Ananda Kishore Jamatia (21) and Khasrang Jamatia (24) of Raiyabari village under the same police and station within a few hours after the complaint was registered.
Police added that all arrested accused persons will be forwarded before a court for further legal action and investigation is in progress.
Another rape incident has also reported on Monday at Chailengta police station under Dhalai district, where a 13 years old minor girl was raped by a accused. Police added that they also registered the complaint under section 376 (3) of IPC and 4 of POCSO Act-2012 and started investigation.
After necessary legal steps including medical check-up of the victim minor girl, police have also managed to arrest the accused person identified as Ashit Debbarma (23) of South Lalcherra under Chailengta police station within a few hours of the incident. Police said that they will forward the arrested accused man before a local court on Tuesday for further legal action.
